Carnival Corp selling another two ships

Thursday, 30 Jul, 2020 0

The Carnival Corp fleet of ships is shrinking even further.

The company announced  two more ships will be sold, in addition to 13 already announced.

It was announced during a financial disclosure but it didn’t reveal which ships they are.

"We have made a decision to remove a further two ships from our fleet. These decisions are intended to align the fleet with the expected phased restart of guest operations while also generating cost savings," the filing said.

They will leave the fleet within the next 90 days, it said.

Carnival Corp recently said it plans to defer delivery of the next two years of more than half of its nine new ships under construction.

Meanwhile, there are unconfirmed reports that Carnival Corp is mulling selling two of its cruise brands.

According to unnamed sources, Tradewinds reported UK based Cunard Line and Seabourn Cruises could be up for sale.
