Carnival Cruise Line confirms Port of Galveston restart
Carnival Cruise Line confirmed its planned return to Texas with Carnival Vista and Carnival Breeze set to begin cruises out of Galveston next month.
Vista will begin sailing from Port of Galveston on 3 July, followed by the return of operations on Carnival Breeze on 15 July.
They are available for guests who have received their final dose of an approved Covid-19 vaccine at least 14 days prior to departure.
Proof of vaccination is required.
"The current CDC requirements for cruising with a guest base that is unvaccinated will make it very difficult to deliver the experience our guests expect, especially given the large number of families with younger children who sail with us. As a result, our alternative is to operate our ships from the US during the month of July with vaccinated guests," said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.
Carnival Horizon is set to sail from PortMiami next month and will make an announcement this week regarding updated protocols, given that Florida has banned companies from requesting proof of vaccinations.
Carnival will also update guests and travel advisors about its plans for August sailings in the coming days.
