Carnival Cruise Line returning to San Diego
Carnival Cruise Line is sailing back to San Diego after a gap of seven years.
The line will return for a short winter deployment of Carnival Miracle from December 2019 to February 2020.
It has unveiled a total of 10 voyages of varying duration to Mexico the Panama Canal and Hawaii.
The line last served San Diego in 2012.
The season kicks off with a seven-day cruise to the Mexican Riviera and other itineraries include two week sailings to Hawaii and a 13-day Panama Canal cruise that finishes in Miami.
"We’re returning to San Diego based on a number of factors, including recent fleet expansion with the addition of four ships to our fleet since leaving San Diego," said Carnival spokesman Vance Gulliksen.
"We are very obviously happy to return, it’s a great market and part of a larger West Coast expansion with a new ship going into Long Beach and renovations to our terminal."
The 2,124-passenger Miracle currently sails out of Tampa.
