Carnival Vista first ship to get IMAX theater
Carnival’s latest ship Vista, set to debut in 2016, will feature a host of new innovations for the industry, including the first ever IMAX theatre at sea.
Hollywood movies and IMAX documentaries will be shown on a three deck-high screen.
Adjacent is the Thrill Theater, where film fans can enjoy a multi-dimensional special effects cinematic experience.
Both are part of the ‘Carnival Multiplex,’ complete with a concession serving up popcorn and movie snacks.
Other new shipboard amenities include SkyRide – the first pedal-powered aerial attraction which offers the chance to ride bikes on a suspended cycle track 150 feet above the ocean.
Other notable new attractions for Carnival Vista include Kaleid-O-Slide, the line’s first-ever water tube ride, and the line’s first ever shipboard brewery at the the RedFrog Pub.
"From our exhilarating new high-altitude SkyRide to the Kaleid-O-Slide water tube slide to our IMAX anchored Carnival Multiplex to the multitude of dining and bar options, we are thrilled to share the details about our largest and most innovative ship with our guests," said Mark Tamis, Carnival’s senior vice president of guest operations.
Vista will mark Carnival’s return to Europe when it makes its debut May 1, 2016, on a 13-day cruise from Trieste, Italy.
Vista will then sail across the Atlantic and then operate a series of voyages from New York.
