Carry on Drinking, says Oman
MUSCAT – Oman has lifted its drinking ban during the month-long Islamic festival of Ramadan when Muslims fast all day, and which runs, this year, from mid-September
Tourists staying at selected hotels including The Chedi, Al Bustan Palace Radisson SAS and Crowne Plaza will for the first time be allowed to purchase and consume alcohol after sunset, from 7pm-2am.
The director of the Oman Tourist Office said lifting the ban was a “sensitive subject” but that the country was trying to adapt and cater for western travellers’ preferences
