Cathay adjusts Middle East operations
Cathay Pacific is ditching flights to Jeddah and Abu Dhabi from March 30, citing "commercial reasons" for the decision.
In a review of Middle East operations, Cathay is making changes, starting with the 2014 summer schedule.
Flights to and from Bahrain will be increased to a daily flight with an intermediary stop at Dubai. This daily flight replaces the existing four-times-per week-flight to Bahrain with an intermediary stop at Riyadh.
Riyadh will be served by a direct flight from Hong Kong five times per week. This direct flight replaces the existing daily service with intermediary stops at Bahrain or Abu Dhabi.
Cathay Pacific said it was committed to serving the Middle East "and will continue to identify opportunities to strengthen its services to and from the region".
