Cathay Pacific joins Skyscanner direct booking

Cathay Pacific and sister airline Cathay Dragon have agreed to list fares with Skyscanner’s direct booking platform.

The airlines’ fares inventory is available to book directly within Skyscanner, across both web and mobile channels, and is now live.

Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon fares are now available to book through Skyscanner for customers in 40 markets including Hong Kong, Australia, Japan, the UK and the US.

Skyscanner’s Direct Booking allows customers to search, select and book flight itineraries directly within the Skyscanner platform without being redirected to the relevant airline website.

"We are delighted that Cathay Pacific is joining an ever-growing number of airlines including British Airways, Scoot and Finnair who are spearheading the next generation of flexible and dynamic travel content distribution through the Skyscanner global marketplace," said Hugh Aitken, senior director of strategic partnerships at Skyscanner.

Skyscanner became the first fare aggregator to achieve IATA’s NDC Level 3 Aggregator status.

Skyscanner claims airline partners have reported a 20% increase in booking conversions and a 50% conversion rate uptick on mobile bookings.

"Cathay Pacific is committed to working with industry partners to widen our distribution coverage and make our award-winning products more accessible to a broader perspective of customers," said Cathay Pacific director of commercial and cargo, Ronald Lam.
