Cathay warns of weekend disruption to reservations system

Monday, 03 Feb, 2012 0

Agents are being advised that they won’t be able to make bookings with Cathay Pacific Airways over the weekend of February 11 and 12.

The airline is switching to a new reservations system, replacing an in-house system introduced in the 1980s.

During the transition, it needs to temporarily suspend bookings on the global distribution systems, its website, and its mobile sites.

Travel agents will be able to put new reservations on request, but those bookings will not be confirmed until the system resumes service.

Online check in and self-service kiosks at airports will also be unavailable throughout much of the weekend, but Cathay’s flight schedule will be unaffected.
