CBP deploys biometric checks for cruisers in Mobile
U.S. Customs and Border Protection is now deploying facial biometrics to disembark cruise ship guests in the Port of Mobile, Alabama.
In partnership with Carnival Cruise Line, CBP can biometrically verify each person’s identity against an official photo ID. It says the process takes two seconds and is more than 98% accurate. It ‘adds an extra layer of security and streamlines travel into the United States,’ CBP’s Gulf Coast Field Office says.
