Cheapflights’ Canada site doubles visits
Cheapflights, the international leader in flights price search and comparison, with sites in North America, UK and Germany, announces that its Canadian site (www.cheapflights.ca) received 2.6 million visits over the past year. The site has seen solid growth during 2008 and in January 2009, visits were up 100% year on year.
Cheapflights.ca was “light launched” in April 2007 and has been until recently providing Canadian consumers with a multi-partner search by date tool and also hand-picked deals service when new functionality and content were added. This has clearly been of interest to Canadian consumers looking for value for money flight deals and is reflected in the increasing traffic on www.cheapflights.ca .
Cheapflights’ Head of International, Mo Bulbrook commented: “We are obviously very pleased that our Canadian site is attracting increasing numbers of visits. We expect very shortly to announce that the site will move onto Cheapflights’ new international technology platform in common with www.cheapflights.com our US site and www.cheapflights.co.uk in the UK. This move will provide our Canadian users with much, much more content and functionality. Importantly, this coming year, Cheapflights.ca will have the means to enable Canadian advertisers to offer additional cost-effective ways to target consumers looking for great value deals.
Cheapflights’ CEO, Chris Cuddy added: "The performance of Cheapflights.ca has been very encouraging. We strive to provide consumers with a wide choice of flight deals from many airlines and other flight providers. Cheapflights is committed to building the best flights search website for our Canadian users by adding a growing number of travel partners and site features."
