Cheapflights recruits COO
US internet expert David Owczarek has joined Cheapflights as group chief operating officer
Based in London and reporting to CEO, David Soskin, he brings experience of a number of US internet service companies to the online travel price comparison company.
His background includes DellHost, a fully outsourced and private-labelled shared and dedicated web hosting solution built for Dell Computer Corporation and launched in 2000; three US launches of monster.com, and the deployment of the UK, Australian, and Canadian versions of the product and an outsourced web design and hosting service for the US firm Verizon
Soskin said: “We are delighted to welcome Dave to Cheapflights. He comes highly recommended by US software guru Dan Bricklin who sits on the board of our American subsidiary Cheapflights (USA).
“Our rapid growth to-date has been made possible by investment in people and technology to provide the best possible user online experience and content.
“The appointment of a COO of Dave’s calibre reflects our determination to keep our sites at the forefront of capability in displaying our advertising partners’ travel deals and information and improving the user experience for the travelling public.
“With our scaleable and proven business model, we also need now to address the potential of the European and Asian markets.”
