Cheapflights redirects £0.5bn in bookings
Cheapflights has announced prolific growth in UK and US markets and claims it is the fourth largest online referrer to BA.com.
The company, which launched with Cheapflights.co.uk in 1996, has reached four million unique users across its UK and US websites.
The US website, which launched in May 2003, is ranked among the top 20 travel websites in the country, something it took Cheapflights.co.uk six years to achieve.
The websites are a comprehensive directory of travel products from which consumers can research travel. It then directs bookings to travel suppliers and agents such as BA or Lastminute.com.
Recent statistics released by web monitors, Hitwise, shows Cheapflights is the fourth largest online referrer to BA.com and Lastminute.com and the leading referrer to Airline Network and Lastminute-owned Online Travel Company.
According to Cheapflights chief executive David Soskin, the website referred about half a billion pounds worth of travel bookings to the UK travel sector last year.
