CHIC Punta Cana has its own environmental and social sustainability policy that aims to adhere to environmental legislation in the Dominican Republic. The policy’s sustainability objectives include reducing the impact of its operations on the environment, conserving energy, reducing water consumption, recycling waste and involving employees and guests in its environmental efforts. The use of certified chemical products by EcoLogic Solutions also plays a major part in reducing water consumption and conserving energy due to their efficiency and effectiveness.
CHIC Punta Cana’s work with local communities is also a key factor in the resort’s sustainability. Not only is the resort acting upon its own corporate social responsibilities, but also displaying a genuine concern for the economic, human and social development of the community around the property.
CHIC Punta Cana helps children living in the orphanage A Better World for Homeless Children located at Higüey City one of the biggest cities in La Altagracia Province. As part of the assistance program, orphan children who have grown into adulthood are introduce to careers in hospitality with jobs provided by the resort.
