China bans Russian airlines with foreign planes
China has barred Russian airlines from flying into its airspace using foreign-owned planes.
China’s Civil Aviation Administration recently asked all foreign airlines to supply ownership data of aircraft and Russian airlines couldn’t provide documents that foreign planes were ‘de-registered abroad,’ Russian news outlet RBK reported.
The EU banned the leasing of aircraft to Russian airlines after the Ukraine invasion. To circumnavigate it, Russia allowed airlines to re-register them domestically.
However, China is taking no chances.
