China Eastern to reroute US-Shanghai flights
China Eastern Airlines has petitioned the U.S. Transportation Department to allow it to reroute New York to Shanghai flights because of Covid-19 countermeasures. The airline has been odered by China’s aviation regulator to divert Shanghai flights to other cities.
It is asking for US approval starting March 31 to reroute the twice-weekly Shanghai flights from New York to Fuzhou Changle International Airport until the end of April.
China plans to divert over 100 international flights bound for Shanghai to other cities until May 1 due to the Covid situation.
