Chinese passengers shamed and detained after violent airport outburst

Monday, 27 Apr, 2016 0
The latest example of unruly behaviour by Chinese airline passengers has resulted in the arrest of three people.

Angered over a delayed flight, two men and a woman took their frustration out on airline staff, verbally abusing, slapping and hurling food at staff.

The incident took place at Changsha after a flight to Sanya was delayed by bad weather, and was caught on video.

After the footage went viral there was the inevitable backlash with Chinese netizens calling for the three to be put on the ‘uncivilized tourists’ national blacklist or thrown in jail.

The outcry prompted authorities to act and the three passengers have been detained by police according to a report in the People’s Daily.
