“Chocaholics” dream hotel and job

Thursday, 20 Feb, 2007 0

Imagine being a sales manager for the hotel where the world famous chocolate dream desert, the Sacher Torte, was created in 1832 and is still lovingly prepared today to a secret recipe – right in the Sacher Hotel, Vienna.

Brigitta Hartl-Wagner, along with her colleagues Andreas Gluck and Evelyn Wickhoff-Vihringer, have just that dream job. The Sacher Hotel, Vienna, is one of a group of three and a range of coffee shops operated by the company, including the Hotel Sacher Wien, the Hotel Sacher Salzburg, the Café Sacher Innsbruck and the Café Sacher Graz. It also owns the stunning Astoria, Relax and Spa Hotel in Seefeld in the Tirol.

Brigitta said: “The Hotel Sacher in Vienna is over 130 years old and is one of the few 5* hotels in the city, offering a charm an elegance that is hard to find.

“In 2005 we completed a full refurbishment, adding 20 new floors, and rather than try and recreate the tradition and charm of the remainder of the hotel, we also wanted to provide the style and facilities some of our younger guests want, so we created these two floors in a contemporary style, more modern, with terraces and stunning views of Vienna and the Opera House. Not only that we added a 300 sq m spa on the top.

“We believe that service is a very personal and attentive thing, which is what we specialise in and if guests are looking for real luxury and elegance, offering the very best service and food in Europe, with the twist of contemporary also available, then the Sacher Vienna is the place to stay.

“The hotel is not large, with only 152 rooms, before we added the 42 rooms in 2005 and even now that is not large and while of course we are the home of the Sacher Torte, we also pride ourselves on our excellent food across all our hotels and cafes.”

Sacher Hotels are members of The Leading Hotels of the World.
