Choice Hotels appoints head of vacation rentals

Choice Hotels International has established its first senior leadership role for vacation rentals.
 
The company has announced the appointment of Steve Caron to vice president, head of vacation rentals, to support its recently launched vacation rentals business.
 
Caron joins the company after 20 years in the vacation rentals business overseeing distribution, marketing and technology.
 
Most recently he was vice president of product integration, business development and vacation rentals at Tourico Holidays and was responsible for launching Tourico’s vacation rentals unit.
 
He also worked at ResortQuest and VacationRoost.com.
 
"Steve’s entrepreneurial energy in the vacation rentals sector represents an important addition to our management team as we look to build our presence in this compelling segment of the lodging experience," said Tom Song, senior vice president, corporate development and innovation at Choice Hotels.
 
"There is strong demand from vacation rental managers for solutions that help them grow and remain competitive, and I am pleased to have a leader with the capabilities that Steve brings."
 
Before embarking on a hospitality career, Caron served in the United States Air Force for 10 years and is a decorated combat veteran.
