Choice Hotels eyes Asia expansion
Choice Hotels looks set to expand its footprint in Southeast Asia after appointing a Thailand based hotel management firm.
It signed Krest Hospitality to help develop the market for Choice’s Comfort, Quality and Clarion hotel brands.
Choice Hotels Asia-Pac says it plans to add at least 20 hotels across the region within the next five years.
The partnership with Krest covers ASEAN nations Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar, as well as Sri Lanka, South Korea, the Maldives, Bangladesh and Bhutan.
"Choice Hotels Asia-Pac has an excellent reputation in the industry. We are proud to have been engaged as the business’ preferred hotel management company in our local market," said Krest CEO, Glenn de Souza."
Krest is tasked with scouting new properties, contract negotiations, implementing staff training and marketing.
Krest is an affiliate of Kosmopolitan Hospitality and based in Bangkok.
It currently manages 18 hotel properties.
