City pushes Valentine’s flirting sessions
Austria: Single travellers encouraged to suck “symbolic” lollypops
Finally, a Valentine’s treat to warm your heart!
Unattached Viennese travellers are being urged to travel in special “flirting carriages” on the city’s underground system as part of a special promotion for the big day.
The front carriage of each train has been set aside for those who want to flirt with each other, and anyone interested in joining the fun is given a symbolic lollypop to suck and a book of chat-up lines if they have none of their own.
A spokesman for the promotion said that only singles are expected to join in, and that the carriages are expected to be very popular during the event, which lasts a week.
Reports say some of the “flirting tips” included in the free book include sucking the lollypop while looking at anyone who has caught their eye. Make of that what you want!
