Club 18-30 boss takes Olympics role

Club 18-30 boss Stephen Vaughan is to take charge of parent company Thomas Cook’s involvement in the 2012 London Olympic Games
 
He has become director, Thomas Cook London 2012 Partnership as part of the travel company’s role as an official supporter to the games and paralympic games.
 
Vaughan will also continue to manage Club 18-30, alongside his new responsibilities until a replacement is confirmed.
 
He will recruit a team to help deliver Thomas Cook’s Olympic Games commitments, the company said.
 
The newly-created position includes ensuring that sports fans and families from across the UK have access to the games through short breaks that will be available via travel agencies and online next year.
 
Thomas Cook managing director of specialist businesses Adam Fredman said: “London 2012 is incredibly important to Thomas Cook and Stephen is the right person to ensure that this exceptional opportunity is fully maximised.  Stephen’s drive and ambition will be key as we work hard to make sure that our part of the Olympic and Paralympic Games is delivered faultlessly.”
