Club Med reveals business volume growth in 2022
All-inclusive operator Club Med revealed robust financial results and an annual profit for 2022.
It increased business volume by 100% (€1.7 billion) compared to 2021.
Operating profit was €98 million as the brand rebounded to pre-pandemic levels.
Adjusted earnings were €309 million, and net financial debt now stands at €308 million, down from €490 million.
It cites its strong performance to a mass return to global travel, with resort capacity increasing by 62% last year.
Guest numbers recovered to 88% of the 2019 level, or 1.3 million customers.
Club Med says 2023 has started well, with the business volume at recent year records.
Departures scheduled for the first half of 2023 are up by 36%.
For the second half of the year, bookings are up by 23%.
Henri Giscard d’Estaing, President of Club Med, said: “Our operating profit is above 2019, and we achieved a positive net result.”
Asia is still somewhat impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, business volume recovered in the second half to within 22% of 2019 levels.
