Color Line Selects OpenJaw Technologies to provide new Reservations and Internet Booking Platform
New Platform will enable, for the first time, the Dynamic Packaging of Sea and Land travel products.
Dublin, Ireland – 19th December 2007 – OpenJaw Technologies, a leader in delivering high performance web infrastructure solutions to the global travel industry, today announced a new contract with Color Line AS, a premium European cruise and transport company headquartered in Oslo, Norway.
The project will include the development of a new Reservations and Internet Booking Platform which will enable travellers to choose from a list of package offerings which combine ferry, onshore accommodation, cruise products and attractions both on sea and on land.
According to John McQuillan, CEO of OpenJaw Technologies, “We are delighted to announce this contract which will provide Color Line with a new Reservations and Internet Booking Platform. This is the first application of Dynamic Packaging to the cruise and transport industry, which will allow Color Line to offer their passengers a unique choice of combined on sea and on land products. The platform will also create a new distribution channel for land based travel suppliers who have previously been unable to access this market in a seamless way. We look forward to supplying OpenJaw’s industry leading platform for the benefit of Color Line and the Norwegian tourist industry.”
OpenJaw, along with Color Line and their partners – the Italian company E-Dea and the Norweigan company EDB – will roll out the project in 2009.
Commenting on the announcement, Color Line’s Executive Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs, Mr. Helge Otto Mathisen said: “As part of our strategy to become Europe’s best cruise and transport company, we are investing significantly in a new technology platform. This new Reservations and Internet Booking Platform will enable us to offer passengers a unique choice of products and attractions which will transform our business.”
