Commission breakthrough at Thomas Cook
Thomas Cook has launched an innovative tracking program that will see its agents paid commission even if their customers opt to book online.
"DreamCapture" allows holidaymakers to create a wish list in store, with information, images and links to the web pages on thomascook.com, so they can discuss their options with friends and family.
Once Thomas Cook has their email, the booking can be tracked to see whether the customer decides to book online, via the call center or by going back to the agency.
John Straw, chairman of Thomas Cook’s Digital Advisory Board, said the innovation has made a staggering difference to its business.
"It’s made our in-store agents very happy, too, because they are now getting commission even if the customer books later online," he added.
The program has been tested in Thomas Cook stores in Cramlington and Dundee and will be rolled out across all stores by December 2013.
