Comtec helps agents with direct sell

Monday, 15 Sep, 2004 0

Comtec has launched a product that allows agents to get their own website and enable customers to manage their bookings online.

TravelCat Web View offers agents a specific URL, www.companyname.co.uk, or access through Comtec’s industry portal. The site is secure and customers logging on have access to real time product data.

It costs £5,000 for the initial set-up, then agents are charged 25 pence per transaction, although customers can continue to retrieve bookings online free of charge.

Once customers have made a booking they get a unique booking number which they can use, when they input their departure date and surname, to access the booking from their own computer. They can then pay in full or in monthly installments and an email receipt is generated.

Sales director for Comtec Europe, Richard Turner, says the product could help agents save money by reducing administration and the need for stationary.

Comtec is testing the product with some existing clients as it requires agents to have installed TravelCat version five. It is available now.
