Continental adds third Cairns – Guam flight
Continental Airlines, the world’s sixth largest carrier, will introduce a third weekly flight from Cairns to the Micronesian hub of Guam, commencing on Tuesday, 4 April.
The additional flight will increase access not only to Guam, but to neighbouring islands including Saipan, Palau, Yap, Chuuk, Kosrae and Pohnpei, renowned worldwide for their superb diving and snorkeling.
The US-based airline also offers onward service from Guam to eight destinations in Japan, including Tokyo, Nagoya, Fukuoka and the nation’s premier ski resort of Sapporo, as well as Honolulu and the US mainland, Hong Kong, Manila and Denpasar.
And for Far North Queensland, the additional flight also offers another opportunity to boost inbound tourism, particularly from the key source markets of Japan and the USA
To mark the start of the new Guam services, departing Cairns at 12.10am each Tuesday from 4 April, Continental is offering a roundtrip air Economy Class fare of just $865, including taxes, for departures during April.
Continental currently offers flights from Cairns to Guam every Monday and Friday, departing at 1.35am and arriving just 4 hours and 25 minutes later at 6.00am local time, the same day.
The early morning departure times enable travellers from throughout Australia to fly to Cairns during the previous day to make the overnight connection.
