Corsica prepares for Tour de France
With less than 100 days to go, the countdown has begun for the 100th edition of the Tour de France, which this year will begin in Corsica.
The first three stages of Le Tour will be raced on Corsica. Stage cities Bastia, Ajaccio, Calvi and Porto-Vecchio are working hard to prepare for the huge crowds expected to visit the island to watch the race.
This weekend’s Criterium International at Porto-Vecchio is being seen as a dress rehearsal for the 2013 tour, which begins on June 29 and ends in Paris on July 21.
Tour favourites Chris Froome, Cadel Evans and Andy Schleck will be among the top international riders in Corsica this weekend for the Criterium International.
