Costa Cruises partners with WeChat for Chinese market
Costa Cruises has announced the launch of a new WeChat Mini programme on its China based ships.
The adoption of WeChat allows guests to enjoy seamless mobile payment and a range of shipboard services such as booking specialty restaurants, entertainment and spa treatments via the ship’s free intranet network.
All services can be accessed through the WeChat app.
The programme will roll out first on Costa Atlantica.
"As a pioneer in the Chinese cruise industry, Costa Cruises constantly innovates to enhance the guest experience," said Mario Zanetti, president of Costa Group Asia.
"With China being one of the world’s leaders in mobile and digital advancements, we see great potential in leveraging WeChat’s leading position and technologies to not only facilitate hassle-free payment, but also provide a more immersive and digitized on-board experience for our guests.""
There are nearly one billion active monthly users on WeChat and its Chinese platform Weixin.
