Cruise line cancels more sailings to operate Bahamas relief mission
Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line has cancelled more sailings this month to continue humanitarian efforts in the Bahamas.
Its next four sailings, scheduled for September 13, 15, 17 and 19, have been cancelled so the line can operate another post-hurricane relief mission, which will leave Palm Beach on Friday.
Last week, the Grand Celebration ship arrived back in Palm Beach with more than 1,000 Bahamian evacuees.
"Grand Bahama is our home away from home. We are committed to providing aid and we look forward to returning to our traditional sailing schedule as soon as possible, as we know that will make the most positive impact on the island," said Oneil Khosa, CEO of Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line.
The company is accepting bookings for future cruises and will protect travel agent commissions.
"This sailing will continue the efforts we started just days after Hurricane Dorian. Additional humanitarian cruises may follow," the company said.
Donations are still being accepted and volunteers wishing to join the cruise to offer assistance on Grand Bahama can visit BahamasReliefCruise.org
