Cruise line looking for more North American bookings

Costa Crociere is not well-known in North America, but that’s a goal of Lynn Torrent, CEO of Costa Cruise Lines, N.V.

Costa is the Italian subsidiary of the Miami-based Carnival Corp.

She told the Miami Herald one of her goals was to get the cruise line’s name out to the travel agent community.

“Last year, we more than doubled the number of North Americans sailing with Costa in Europe,” she told the newspaper. “We want to keep the international flair on board our ships, while growing where we think it makes sense.”

A new advertising campaign features the slogan, “Cruising Italian style…That’s Amore.”
