Cruise ships tweak itineraries to dodge Hurricane Ernesto
Multiple cruise lines have revised Caribbean cruise itineraries to avoid Ernesto, which is now a hurricane.
The hurricane is impacting Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands with heavy flooding.
The National Hurricane Center expects Ernesto to strengthen further before reaching Bermuda later this week.
Carnival Magic skipped a call at San Juan, Puerto Rico and instead added a stop in Nassau for later this week.
Carnival Pride has brought forward its Bermuda port call by a day, and departs on Thursday, a day before Ernesto is due to reach Bermuda.
The line says there are no expected changes planned for Carnival Freedom and Mardi Gras at the moment.
The Norwegian Joy has also brought forward its Bermuda call, so it can depart a day early.
The Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Sky both switched from eastern to western Caribbean sailings this week, as is Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas.
