Cruise social networking website unveiled

A new social networking website Inside Cruise – http://www.insidecruise.co.uk/ – is being aimed at the growing number of UK cruise converts.

The site, a subdivision of Ideal Holidays – part of the Freedom Travel Group – is being launched after completing a two month beta testing phase.

By registering on this website, users can communicate with each other through forums and private messaging. The site will offer reviews, image galleries and videos to act as research tools.

It will also work as an online magazine with features, latest news, competitions and other cruise related offerings.

The site is free to users and will generate revenue from advertising and sponsored offers.

As an introduction to the site, members will receive £5 for every cruise review, £10 for every cruise gallery and £10 for every cruise video.

Carla Prosser, who has designed the site, said: “Inside Cruise is a social networking site for people who are interested in cruise travel.

“We want people to share their experiences, benefit from others’ advice, or simply develop relationships with others who share their hobby.”

Prosser added: “There are several similar sites in the US, but this is the first cruise community in the UK, giving British views, recommending British travel agencies, talking about prices in pounds etc.

“Inside Cruise, does however welcome members from overseas. Whilst appreciating the increasing number of ‘silver surfers’ are a key part of the cruise business, increasing the age group is falling, as new ships cater for different tastes.

“We have embraced the community phenomena, as our website is targeted for all ages from 19 – 85 years.”
