Cruise specialist sees turnover rise
Specialist cruise agency Barrow Travel has recorded a 15% rise in turnover in the first half of the year.
The United Co-op Travel Group cruise centre based in Barrow-in-Furness achieved the rise in the 26 weeks to July 23.
Although no financial figures were available, UCTG saw overall turnover up by more than 12% to £235 million in the half-year, as previously reported by Travelmole.
Barrow Travel, which runs Cumbria Cruise Club, predicts a bright future with the opening of a £10 million cruise terminal in Barrow in 2007-08.
General manager Alison Westall said: “The new terminal will provide a significant boost the the area and give Cumbria Cruise Club the opportunity to showcase ships to clients and potential customers.”
