Crystal chief operating officer Thomas Mazloum has embarked on a new voyage.

He has left the company to pursue other opportunities outside the industry, Crystal said.

Mazloum had been COO for nearly two years and was responsible for shipboard operations and shore-side guest services.

He joined the line in 1990 but left in 2002 and then returned three years later after serving as general manager for Epcot at Walt Disney World.

"It is with a heavy heart that we say good-bye to Thomas, whose talents have played an instrumental role in establishing Crystal’s award-winning reputation. We wish him nothing but the best in his new endeavors," CEO Edie Rodriguez said.

Following Mazloum’s departure, Rodriguez announced changes to management structure.

Toni Neumeister was appointed senior vice president of hotel operations, overseeing all hotel, F&B, entertainment and land programs.

Marine operations now falls under the responsibility of Gustaf Gronberg, senior vice president of marine operations at Genting Cruise Lines, the holding company for Crystal and Asia based sister brands Star Cruises and Dream Cruises.

Also the line’s casino operations will be franchised and transferred to Genting division Resorts World at Sea.
