Crystal Cruises has appointed industry veteran Walter Littlejohn to head up its new river cruises business.

Littlejohn joins as vice president and managing director on Monday June 6, just a month before Crystal Mozart makes in inaugural sailing on the Danube River from Vienna.

"Walter comes to Crystal at a pivotal time for Crystal River Cruises, and his wealth of expertise and driving spirit will certainly help ensure excellence during the launch of our river experiences and this period of extraordinary growth," says Edie Rodriguez, Crystal’s CEO.

Littlejohn has been in the travel industry for nearly a quarter of a century and was most recently vice president with AmaWaterways.

He has held operational leadership positions across many disciplines including reservation sales, inventory management and customer relations.

He also founded and ran his own agency for 14 years.

Crystal River Cruises is building six more luxury river vessels, beginning with Crystal Debussy, Crystal Mahler, Crystal Bach and Crystal Ravel which will launch in the summer of 2017.
