Culture Trip to launch new OTA
Global travel publisher Culture Trip is to launch an online travel agency this summer with the aim of connecting independent hotel chains, hostels and boutique properties with millennials.
It claims it will provide an alternative for businesses looking to reach those born between 1980 and 2000, which make up more than 62 percent of Culture Trip’s 12 million monthly users.
Culture Trip publishes inspirational articles, photos, videos, illustrations and animation. Its website, app and social media channels cover multiple areas of interest ranging from travel, food, art, music, books, film and fashion and design.
"As we work to build a one-stop platform for discovering the world’s culture, online travel booking felt like a seamless and valuable addition to our user experience," said founder and CEO Dr Kris Naudts.
"We are really excited about the unique capabilities of our service in helping the travel industry connect with millennial audiences that are seeking unique adventures and experiences around the globe."
Recently-appointed directors Sabina Shaida, formerly MD of Mosaic Holidays, and James Williams, previously with Voyage Prive, are attending ITB Berlin to try contract hotels ahead of this summer’s launch.
