Cunard joins pre-Christmas sales
Transatlantic voyages on Queen Mary 2 for less than £700 are being made available by Cunard as it cuts prices by as much as £300.
Prices for transatlantic crossings in April, October and November next year now start at £699 per person, including a flight in the opposite direction.
Bookings need to be made before February 28, 2009, for the discount to apply.
The cruise line claims that in real terms the voyages are “virtually unequalled†for value-for-money in classic travel.
Following Queen Victoria’s inaugural series of Mediterranean voyages this year, new itineraries from Southampton in 2009 start at £869 for 12 nights in October with the discount offer. A similar 12-night voyage in April starts at £999 per person.
QM2’s Mediterranean voyages from Southampton now lead-in at £1,199 per person.
The line’s president and managing director Carol Marlow said: “In the current challenging economic climate customers not only want a quality experience but they also deserve value for money.
“The Cunard sale gives them just that – with the best prices we have ever offered leading up to the key December and January booking months.
“With the worldwide coverage of the departure of the QE2, interest in Cunard is at an all time high- not just from our regular loyal guests, but from all those whose interest in Cunard has been raised by the huge amount of publicity the brand has received in recent months.â€
