Curved cabins – the latest cruise line trend
Cruise ship cabins that represent a “giant leap forward†in accommodation are to feature on the next generation of Norwegian Cruise Line vessels.
The 4,200-passenger F3 ships, the first of which is due to enter service in 2010, will have 1,415 cabins with balconies. All outside cabins will have balconies on the 150,000-ton vessels.
The ‘New Wave’ cabins will include newly designed bathrooms, curved walls and domed ceilings.
NCL president and CEO Colin Veitch said: “We have thrown away the rule book with the design of F3 and are revealing the very first element with our New Wave staterooms.
“Gone are the regimented typical designs and in place are sleek staterooms that are totally outside the box, designed for the needs of tomorrow’s guests.â€
He added: “Today’s announcement is just the first chapter in a series of innovations we will be revealing about our new F3 ships leading up to their launch in 2010.
“These ships will further deconstruct the traditional cruise ship experience with innovations in design, accommodation, luxury and entertainment to create a cutting-edge holiday experience unlike any other at sea.â€
