Håkan Ericson has been named as Carlson Wagonlit Travel’s new president EMEA and Latin America.

He replaces Richard Lovell, who retires in March after 17 years with the company.

Ericson joins CWT on January 28 and will be based in Paris, reporting to Hubert Joly, president and CEO.

He joins from cash handling services company Loomis AB where he was CEO and has experience with SAS and DHL.

Joly said: “Håkan Ericson is both a strategic thinker and a great operational leader.  He will bring significant international experience and an impressive track record to Carlson Wagonlit Travel.

“In his previous positions, he successfully drove sales and marketing initiatives, integrated acquisitions, and increased revenues and profits.

“His customer focus is in keeping with ours and I am confident that our clients in Europe and Latin America will benefit not only from his know-how but his sense of commitment.”

Commenting on Lovell’s retirement, Joly said: “Richard has made outstanding contributions to CWT since he joined the company in 1991.

“He has brought us to new heights in the competitive EMEA region, where CWT has been number one for several years. Our gratitude is coupled with best wishes for a well-deserved retirement.”
