Dance trend takes to sea

Saturday, 09 Aug, 2005 0

Getting your sea legs takes on new meaning as more cruise ships are catering to adults who want to dance.

“Popular music and dance have long been entertainment staples aboard cruise ships, and today’s feature-filled vessels continue that tradition,” said Terry L. Dale, president and CEO of Cruise Lines International Association.

Carnival Cruise Lines, for example, is offering dancing classes without cost.

Celebrity Cruises has Latin dance classes and various lounges designed for dance enthusiasts.

Seabourn Cruise Line has a piano player performing in its restaurants and dancing outdoors under the stars, weather permitting.
