Darwin ready to welcome OutGames visitors
Corporate Traveller Groups has been appointed as the official travel agent for the 2014 Asia Pacific Outgames in Darwin, capital city of Australia’s Northern Territory.
Running from May 10-16, the Outgames brings together lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) athletes from around the world.
Corporate Traveller Groups travel manager Cade Bond said the Outgames would be one of the largest individual events the company would be involved with in 2014.
"This is the first time Corporate Traveller Groups has partnered with the Asia Pacific Outgames and we are expecting up to 2000 registrations," he said.
"The Outgames promises to be a great event for the promotion of sport, equality and human rights and will also give visitors a chance to see the great attractions Darwin and the Northern Territory have to offer.
"Corporate Traveller Groups is holding more than 800 hotel rooms in Darwin for the event and there’s a wide range of attractions available for days off the sporting field," Bond said.
Exclusive negotiated rates for accommodation and flights, as well as 10% earlybird discounts for tours, are available for attendees who book through Corporate Traveller Groups prior to January 31.
The Asia Pacific Outgames will feature 18 sports including athletics, swimming, tennis, squash and golf as well as team events such as roller derby and dragon boating.
