Datalex’s Matrix Travel Distribution Platform enables online corporate rail bookings for Deutsche Telekom Group As part of the ongoing deployment of the Datalex business travel management solution throughout Deutsche Telekom’s global organisation by its subsidiary T-Systems, a new interface has now been developed between the Datalex Matrix Travel Distribution Platform on which the solution is based and Deutsche Bahn’s reservation system NVS (Neues Vertriebs System – New Distribution System), which will enable online corporate rail bookings for the telecommunication’s giant. The rollout of the business travel management solution follows the signing of a reseller and implementation agreement in 2002 between leading technology provider Datalex and T-Systems, Europe’s second largest systems provider and one of the four pillars of Deutsche Telekom AG along with T-Mobile, T-Online and T-Com. Certified by Deutsche Bahn this month for all corporate bookings including group bookings, the new connection supports all Deutsche Bahn discount cards or ‘Bahn Cards’ as they are more commonly known. Designed for use by medium and large companies, and capable of managing corporate travel programs in a multi-national environment, the Datalex solution connects to several GDSs and CRSs including the Sixt car rental system. “The hallmark of our travel distribution platform is its versatility which has enabled the T-Systems team to tailor-make this solution to the specific needs of Deutsche Telekom’s global organization,” said Andreas Schuerrle, Datalex Country Manager, Austria and Germany. “The T-Systems team has done a superb job of stretching and challenging the capabilities of our technology, developing innovative functionality which will enable Deutsche Telekom to see a fast return on its investment.” Deutsche Telekom, Europe’s largest and the world’s fifth largest telecommunications group, owns numerous other communications companies globally. Employing in the region of 247,000 employees worldwide, the global business travel management solution is being geared to potentially cut business travel expenses in Deutsche Telekom annually by €9 million.
