Death of three guests at Sandals resort under investigation
Three Americans died and a fourth is in hospital in the Bahamas.
A Royal Bahamian Police investigation into the deaths at Sandals Emerald Bay Resort on the island of Great Exumais is being ‘closely monitored’ by the US State Department .
Police said two of the guests had reported feeling ill earlier along with other resort guests and had received medical treatment.
Environmental health inspectors are looking at air-conditioning and ventilation as a possible cause.
The four guests were two couples staying in separate villas.
Police do not suspect foul play with ’no signs of trauma.
However, one couple showed signs of ‘convulsion.’
“We are actively working to support both the investigation and the guests’ families in every way possible during this difficult time,” Sandals Resorts said.
