Delays and cancellations continue for Eurostar
Problems with delays and cancellations are rumbling on for Eurostar due to engineering works in the Eurotunnel.
Four trains have been cancelled tomorrow (Friday) as repairs are due to take place.
The cancelled services are:
London to Brussels 12:58 train 9132
London to Paris 13:31 train 9028
Brussels to London 10:56 train 9125
Paris to London 11:13 train 9023
Passengers booked on these trains are advised to contact their original point of sale, or rebook for an alternative date by calling Eurostar’s contact centre on 03432 186 186.
To cancel and apply for a refund, passengers should email the Contact Centre at [email protected] with their booking reference within 60 days.
In addition, Eurostar is warning of one-hour delays to trains today (Thursday).
"Due to ongoing power supply problems in Eurotunnel all Eurostar services will be delayed by around 60 minutes," it said.
Eurotunnel is operating a reduced Le Shuttle service with one train departing every 90 minutes.
Usually there are up to four departures an hour at peak times.
The problems began at the weekend when a lorry caught fire in the tunnel. Disruption continued all weekend after a power failure, which was not connected to Saturday’s fire.
Reduced capacity through the tunnel has caused traffic problems in Kent and Calais, which has also led to major queues at cross-Channel ferry ports.
