Delta Air Lines and alliance partner Aeromexico have jointly signed an agreement to become the official airlines for new Major League Soccer franchise Los Angeles Football Club.

The airlines will fly the team to games when it begins competitive play in 2018.

The partnership also gives the airlines a presence on interior and exterior digital signage at LAFC’s upcoming 22,000-seat Banc of California stadium, marketing content, fan engagement and community outreach activities.

"From day one, our two organizations have shared in a collective vision for and commitment to Los Angeles," said Tom Penn, LAFC president in a statement.

"We are proud to partner with an industry leader, and look forward to elevating the LAFC experience for both our fans and players with Delta and Aeromexico by our side."

Delta is also official airline of the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Kings, the Staples Center, UCLA, and the Rose Bowl.

"Together with Aeromexico, as a supporter of LAFC from the beginning, we look forward to helping make this dream a reality and building LA’s next storied sports franchise as LAFC prepares for its inaugural season in 2018," said Ranjan Goswami, Delta sales VP, West.
