Delta Air Lines to begin Mexico City flights from LA
Delta Air Lines will start daily nonstop flights linking Mexico City with Los Angeles.
The route kicks off on December 1 and is a resumption of a route last served more than a decade ago.
The flights will complement partner Aeromexico’s services on the route.
"LA is the No. 1 US market to Mexico, and together Delta and Aeromexico offer the absolute best schedule between our hub at LAX and Aeromexico’s hub in Mexico City with seven daily flights," said Ranjan Goswami, Delta’s Vice President – Sales, West Region.
"Our combined schedule gives customers access to more choices and 20 destinations beyond LA and our recent relocation to Terminals 2 and 3 makes it more convenient than ever for customers to connect to those destinations from LAX."
Delta will use 132-seat Airbus A319 aircraft on the route which is still subject to regulatory approval.
The LA-Mexico City market is a competitive one with flights also operated by Interjet, Volaris, United Airlines, American Airlines and Alaska Air.
