Delta announces festive boost
Virgin Atlantic’s proposed new partner Delta Air Lines has reported an improved operating performance for December compared with December 2011.
The US airline’s unit revenues rose 4% over the previous year, driven, it said, by "strong holiday demand, merchandising revenue growth and continued capacity discipline".
Delta is planning to buy Singapore Airlines’ 49% stake in Virgin Atlantic for $360m. The deal is awaiting regulatory authority approval.
