Delta finally sees positive cash flow
Delta Air Lines says it has stopped burning through millions on a daily basis. Delta reported a $2.3 billion loss in the first quarter of 2021 but is now generating positive cash of about $4 million a day.
Achieving a positive cash flow is a key milestone a year after the onset of the global pandemic but it is still some way off becoming a profitable business again.
There is strong demand for leisure travel, Delta said, but the lucrative business travel sector is still weak. It still expects Q2 revenue will be down about 50% from pre-pandemic levels.
