Delta is Seeing Pink
In an effort to observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Delta’s special-edition pink plane landed in Montego Bay Tuesday to boost support for cancer survivors in Jamaica and raise awareness for the Jamaica Cancer Society.
The plane’s arrival on the island aims to encourage corporate Jamaica and citizens to become proactive by supporting the Jamaica Cancer Society. A pink lemonade sales initiative during the plane’s flights have lead to proceeds of almost US$1 million, benefiting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation which aids the search for a cure. Delta’s special partnership with the Jamaica Cancer Society brings light to the introduction of three daily flights from Montego Bay’s Sangster International Airport to Atlanta, beginning December 20, 2008.
