Developer touts flying taxis in the UK by 2028
Electric flying taxis could be shuttling passengers in UK skies in little more than two years.
Vertical Aerospace is targeting 2028 for a commercial launch of its electric Valo aircraft, despite several regulatory stages still to go.
The Valo aircraft can carry up to six people
The UK company claims it can provide flights at ‘a similar cost’ to an Uber.
Although electric vehicles like this would be far quieter than helicopters, for example, there is still work to be done by the authorities around noise regulation.
Vertical Aerospace said it would will initially launch shuttle services from Canary Wharf to Gatwick and Heathrow Airports, and to Cambridge and Oxford.
The flying range is up to 100 miles at up to 150mph, it says.
